We approached the owners of this property who had already had their sights set on selling their home. Although portions of the property had been renovated in preparation for the sale, we decided to help the owner from experiencing any further burden on his pocket by purchasing the property half-complete and finishing it off ourselves by making it a ‘Staged House’, before placing it on the market for sale.

This was only our second ever project and we experienced some difficulties along the way. We tried out a new building contractor who did not finish off the job completely, leaving us to pick up some of the pieces and correct a lot of the wrongs that were done. We however did not plan well enough before the project started both in our due diligence and assessment of the market, as well as with the selection of building contractors and scope of works to be completed.

Even though we took a loss on this project, the lessons we learnt from it were invaluable and served us in better stead for future projects that followed.
